Fit food & Drinks

As on Fridays I always try to reveal some of my recipes or fit food experiments an also today is not an exception as I wish to share with you my last recipe I tried my hand in – a Shrimp zoodles! It is not a new word nor discovery for a healthy food world and food trend hunters which has been obsessing about this new invention:  zucchini+noodles = zoodles! Basically you get your own (colorful) noodles without having to get the carbs of the pasta! And may I just add – they do look colorful and fun on the plate?!

So I decided to try out something for myself by mixing zoodles, shrimps and red bell pepper and this is the result – a fit diner dish that is so delicious that you will be licking your fingers and ask for more!

The foggy, rainy and cold winter time is the time when we really should put emphases on boosting our immune system. The best way to do it is through a good diet and the right nutrition by consuming the right amount of vitamins that are far more efficient to fight the flu and first signs of getting sick than expensive medicine and all compressed food supplements.

So here are chart of the immune boosting foods you should be eating now.

Have you ever popped in a grocery shop just to buy “essentials for dinner” and came out of it carrying 2 full bags 1 hour later staffed with cookies, chocolate bars, turkey on promotion and nice looking pineapple ? Well I have and if you are completely honest with yourself you will probably now be thinking last time you went to a shop to get 1 thing and came out with another 10 and a chocolate bar in your hand.

We are all guilty of impulse buys, but it is something you can change and improve on not only to save your pocket but also to skip on junk food that you will regret later on. Here are my rules on doing grocery shopping the clever way. Read More

How to eat healthy at London Gatwick airport

We all have been there- fighting with boredom before or between flights( also me last week in London). Some goes around exploring shopping area if there is any, some surfs Internet  if found a free Wi-Fi that works well, but the biggest part, I have noticed, are hitting g food courts and cafeterias to feed their emotional or real hunger.

As for me, as I believe being a professional jet setter hopping on and off flights every week or every second week (this year been running around the world like crazy) than I can say I have learned quite a lot and have already made my way around airports and finding out where is the best smoothies and nicest salad and prefect snacks for a quick bite.

This time about London Gatwick airport and where I am finding my healthy meals. Read More

Travel

It’s been just 3 weeks since I came back from my Japan trip, but feels like a year ago as my life has been a roller coaster since because been running and rushing all the time to manage everything but despite the madness succeeded even to squeezed in Octoberfest  in Munich.

I am not saying that my Japan trip was less hectic and peaceful but the weekend spent in Beppu (Beppu prefecture of Japan, best known for their hot springs. People have them at homes, can you imagine the luxury? )was definitely less busy than other days and could enjoy the wonderful Beppu at Kyushu island and it’s onsen – hot springs.

Honestly speaking one weekend is not enough to enjoy them properly especially if want to go to some special recreation places and do the sightseeing. You have to choose. Our choice was sightseeing – next time will be the recreation part. Read More

On rainy and gloomy Fridays like these all we want to do is crawl up on a sofa under a blanket, cuddle and have something delicious to comfort our souls. Of course the usually option is some unhealthy sweets and rather often we reach out for an ice cream when we definitely shouldn’t.. (You know, diet and stuff?) So I have come up with the best alternative to sweets and healthy food combination that suits me just perfect: a NICE CREAM

It can be even vegan and gluten-free – the limit is the sky and master chef in you. As my boyfriend is lactose intolerant than this is wonderful option also to treat him with a (n)ice cream plus definitely fit version of it.

My weekends cheat-meal snack is Strawberry Nice Cream (vegan and lactose free and so fit so you won’t have a guilty pleasure, just pleasure). Below is recipe – also printable to try at home! Read More

Inspiration, Me & My Beau

Monday is for challenges and new beginnings! it’s a perfect occasion to reset something or uptake a new thing, it’s like a second chance to start over that’s offered to you every single week. So today I am also throwing myself a new challenge to reset my caffeine effect or challenge myself to not use coffee for next two weeks.

The thing I decided to do it is just because I believe that coffee is not anymore doing the effect to me as it used to so I want to go back to the time when I never drank coffee (5 years ago), but living in Italy you just get used to a nice cup of a good espresso that you just cannot do it without. Moreover as for a athlete caffeine is an essential for a performance boosting before training and it should better have it’s effect properly so it is a time to resit it! Read More

Motivational Monday – How to get fitter and happier

Past couple of days has been so emotional and filled with mixed feelings – joy, stress, love, friendship, fatigue, thrill, adrenaline all because one of my dearest friends were getting married and I was doing my best to make this day beautiful and memorable to her. I believe I lost couple of kilos in last 2 days by running to manage everything on time, to help with surprise decorations at her house, the party place and organizing some fun activities after the ceremony. Of course the day after I was exhausted because went to be bed only at 6 am, but was definitely worth it (and as says my friends grandmother :” who is coming to wedding to sleep?!”, so no complaining about lack of my beauty sleep.

All the event, kind words and the whole atmosphere made me pensive the day after making me think of several things, like friends, family, attitudes and comments, surroundings and food as well as personal life and the way I have chosen to live it.  I realized that so many people want everyone to be the same, to stick to the same social norms, standards and have the same lifestyle and interests that’s hard for them to accept that someone has chosen to live their lives as they wish them to and as they find it better for themselves. This is where so many people does not see the line of things that can be discussed and said and when it’s better not to cross it. Read More

As a clean eater and let’s-prepare-my-own-healthy-meal kind a gal’ I always plan and prepare my meals (lunch and snacks) in advance to bring with me to the office for the day after, not only because it’s saves time and money but also because in this the best way to control what and how much I am having on my plate therefore allowing me to stick to my diet.

When it is constantly hot, like it is in Italy this summer, than the last thing you want to do is to stay behind a kitchen oven for hours to prepare a lovely meal. This is the case for as I rather preferring something quick, refreshing and nourishing, and what can be better than a cold smoothie or freshly squeezed fruit juice to beat the heat as an afternoon snack?

It’s not only fast, but also good for you to get in all the daily vitamins from a fresh fruit and vegetables of the season. I love experimenting with smoothies and fruit juices as the possibilities and combinations are endless. The only thing to bear in mind is dosages and not go wild with amounts – as also liquid calories are calories.

My last weeks favorites are divided by colors: Red (watermelon) , Orange ( nectarine and carrot) and Colormix (banana, plum and blueberrykiwi).  Read More
