Diet: The 8 best bedtime snacks for weight loss

And another work week is almost done and weekend is about to start. So excited looking for that because it is finally sunny and that means that this weekend will hopefully open the tanning season- woot, woot! also it has been 5 days since my challenge with myself, so still determined to keep going and sticking to my plan and lose those 3,5kg in 31day!

To stay away from bad snacks especially before bedtime, I have come across to wonderful suggestions tat actually works and will keep you away from snacking!

Here is the list:

1. String Cheese

String Cheese

Ok, it is processed, BUT still one serving of the snack contains filling protein and fat, so you will instantly feel satisfied and all for 80 kcal.

Actually as living in Italy I would substitute this with a Parmesan cheese piece (Parmigiano Reggiano).

2. Bowl of cereal

All bran cereal bowl

All bran cereal bowl

I mean the whole-grain cereal (oatmeal, corn or bran flakes) without sugar! it’s easy to digest and gives you 200kcal or less per bowl. Pour in a little non-fat milk for extra protein.

3. Non-fat Greek yogurt

My all time favorite is Fage 0% that gives you satisfaction of the dairy products as well as protein and contains 100-150kcal. Plus yogurt can help you to calm the stomach, so you will be less likely to wake up with heartburn or indigestion but instead will have a good night rest.

4. Two slices of white-meat turkey

Turkey is loaded with sleep-inducing tryptophan and it is low on fat. couple of slices won’t be more than 100kcal.

5. An apple with spoonful of peanut butter

oh, my favorite!Apples have lots of fiber and satisfying crunch. The protein in peanut or almond butter also fills you up without feeling you heavy in your stomach.

6. Pudding cup

A pudding goes down easy, not fat and not remaining in your stomach heavy all night. One serving is around 90kcal.

As I am personally not big fan of pudding I would substitute this with a Coconut and Greek Yogurt snack – whieties. You can find recipe here.

7. Baby carrots

Super- nutritious and so crunchy. Low on calories just 4-fat-free calories per carrot.

8. Banana
