New Year, but the habits stays the same – staying fit even on the road. Also my trip to Dubai, was not an exception and managed to squeeze in workout even on my heavily packed meeting schedule. Luckily for me, in Pullman Dubai Jumeirah Lakes Towers hotel I was staying was a quite good for a hotel gym to perform a proper workout.

Since I moved to London, this June, the life has been a roller coaster. Not only because I didn’t have a proper break before starting a new job and switching countries but also because I have been running ever since to catch up with the tempo of the city, new work and affront new challenges. (Like how to get a bank account and internet at home).

But once that is settled you are basically a local! I mean wifi that connects automatically when you come home, bank card was just matter of time and patience, a lot of patience and some good persuasion skills and explanation skills why my surname in Latvian passport has been spelled differently and all other documents has a different surname spelling. It’s been just over a month since I move to London and I have already found my new, favourite place in London – Kew Gardens. It’s a botanic garden in a middle of busy London ( and not any botanic  garden – an UNESCO Botanic garden). A magical place, I must say: quiet, spacious, unique, dreamy and so peaceful that even a peacock is enjoying a stroll there.

If you are searching for an alternative place to visit when next time in London – Kew Gardens is the right spot. In summer they even offer a wide range of outdoor activities including concerts and exhibitions, so make sure you are not missing out.

When you are tired of tacos and fajitas and roasted chicken in Playa del Carmen, or you have stopped partying and wish to have some healthy meal and get back to your clean and healthy eating habits., it’s time to visit Bio-Natural vegan restaurant and shop. 

This place i first noticed while exploring Playa and instantly knew that this will be definitely my next favorite place in Playa. And I was completely right!

Away from the buzz behind the Shopping Mall on 5th avenue, but still in the heart of the city is located the restaurant we visited for a lunch and some grocer shopping for home cooking. (As we prefer always cook ourselves 70% of time when we travel).

The spot we choose for our lunch was facing the street just because we wanted to see the world passing by and also hide away from the bad weather and rain clouds that were coming and going all day.

Playa del Carmen Christmas getaway was like a dream come true! Putting bikini on during winter period and hit the beach, dance in the sand, swim with turtles and sleep under palm trees! This was probably one of the most longed trip I have ever had in my life – just to get away – far, far away where the sand is white, ocean is blue and the life is colorful just like the murals, city and people in Mexico.

Usually in adventures in new countries I plan many things I wish to try, taste and see, but this was slightly different trip – this trip was to seek a peace, relaxation and a proper getaway to recharge batteries, reflect and reconnect with the life, priorities and simply enjoy life. Read More

On gray Mondays like this one we tend to dream about summer, far away places and holiday. Luckily for me – I have to hang in here just one week and off I go to a sunny place called Mexico. And as always before any vacation – preparation is the key! 

Of course Trip Advisor, Travel Blogs and local tips has been already checked and noted down – what to do, see and try so the only thing left to do – is to count down the days and make this more visual.

If I can tell you one tip about Sicily, which is totally worth the hustle, than it is – climb Etna, my friend! The best view ever as far as you can see! The air! the clouds! The experience! If traveling to Sicily than adding visiting Etna is a must! Even if not the fittest person or pro hiker – everyone will find something for their fitness level: starting from newbie to pro.

I have briefly mentioned already in my past posts that August was my get-away from society month to recharge and reconnect with my family and friends and above all my love. Also August was a month when I got married. ( However I don’t want to claim that I am not Miss Athlètique anymore, it’s still me! and always will be despites of the status! When you get married, and oh, boy! you are stressed out to manage EVERYTHING and everyone but the satisfaction of all that trouble are just out of the window when the day arrives and even now – when you look back to videos and photos of that day and you take only the happy moments and faces. Ever now and then a girl just needs to have her blissful getaway to recharge her batteries, wind her head and just enjoy the peace and quiet. Especially after having the most stressful summer of your life: long working hours and business travels, dealing with a distance wedding organization, which happens to be your own wedding. Back in June Sanrio came out with their latest “chich” products to their fans – a Hello Kitty branded melon and all have to admit it’s quite kawaii way to get those kids eating more fruits and bring the branding to the next level.

Last week I was again in Sanrio headquarters in Tokyo to see what our mother company is coming out next at Sanrio inhouse Expo and I am glad to tell that soon will be joining that cute melon some other cute and delicious looking fruit with super kawaii packaging. Read More
