We all know that eating greens are good for us! Especially broccoli which is super veggie and even included in World’s Healthiest food list and full of vitamins and low on calories. However as not many people are not fans of them than sometimes we overlook this green fellow and do not include in our shopping list, me included! But i decided to change that and start eating it more often but only if I find some interesting healthy recipe. (As you might have noticed – I do love to try out my hand on different, healthy recipes).

So far I have tried my hand in baked Broccoli tots recipe that I came across in Pintrest by talented Layla from Gimme Delicious and decided to give a try after checking out her recipe and this is what I came up to with a slight modifications. Read More

Workout

And we are back in the game! Well I am! started my day with a 6am morning run and tonight ready to get back to the gym! Been a while and feel that I will need an extra effort to catch up with all the lost weeks of training. Especially will need to increase weight training as well as Cardio, but knowing my hectic life schedule and limited times to train I must take drastic measures – like HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) to speed up the results and burn some belly fat effectively.

Really nice one HIIT I really like is suggested by Justine Munro (IFBB Bikini Pro, personal trainer, and a fitness model).  After seeing this beauty you will definitely want to give a try to this routine to shred that belly fat – I am on it as well!  Read More

Inspiration

Another magic Monday when the agenda is full and need additional sticky note (like couple of them) to note down everything that must be done today, this week and all month. Must say that October has started to me not relaxing at all: I have re-started teaching, working out, dieting, catching up with emails and works (after traveling the most of the month), friends and family.. not easy I must say, but keeping up and than in the middle of all this madness broke a tooth and had an emergency visit to a dentist’s that finished with pulling it out and getting hooked up with antibiotics.. Needless to say that all my workouts are suspended for the week..

BUT I am back! I am back and recharged and having even set up my wonderful agenda for October with Kerrie Hess Monthly calendar. (Don’t know what I would do without one. So sign up for her newsletter and get one for yourself). You can check her illustrations in her homepage. So lovely! (Can’t wait to have one of her illustrations hanging on my living room.. still a small obstacle – do not have a living room.. yet!)

Anyway, back to Monday and Monday motivation and monthly lists! Super charged and inspired and already planning to re-start my 6am morning runs to catch up with my health, setting up a new workout routine to get that booty shapin’! after all – have to go to a wedding (3rd one) in 3 weeks! So this months motivational picture iiiissss…..

Lifting motivation of the month by Luxquotes

As Japanese proverb says ” Fall down seven times, stand up eight”!

And this is what I am doing! No giving up, just picking where I left and moving on and always striving for progress because I know I will succeed in the end! So no sulking no wining just working hard and smashing goals and having new adventures and everything done!

Next things on my list – London on Monday for business trip/fair, Guernsey island on Friday to visit my friend and participate in my lovely nephew’s 1st year birthday! (Good aunt in me is excited!) and than wedding in Calabria in 3 weeks! And that’s only the traveling part, there is still working, teaching, working out, dieting, blogging part as well..oh yeah and Halloween (It must be celebrated too! Pumpkins and dress up like every year! )

Can I make it all? I am sure I can and I will!

What about you? what’s your plans for October?

Travel

It’s been just 3 weeks since I came back from my Japan trip, but feels like a year ago as my life has been a roller coaster since because been running and rushing all the time to manage everything but despite the madness succeeded even to squeezed in Octoberfest  in Munich.

I am not saying that my Japan trip was less hectic and peaceful but the weekend spent in Beppu (Beppu prefecture of Japan, best known for their hot springs. People have them at homes, can you imagine the luxury? )was definitely less busy than other days and could enjoy the wonderful Beppu at Kyushu island and it’s onsen – hot springs.

Honestly speaking one weekend is not enough to enjoy them properly especially if want to go to some special recreation places and do the sightseeing. You have to choose. Our choice was sightseeing – next time will be the recreation part. Read More

On rainy and gloomy Fridays like these all we want to do is crawl up on a sofa under a blanket, cuddle and have something delicious to comfort our souls. Of course the usually option is some unhealthy sweets and rather often we reach out for an ice cream when we definitely shouldn’t.. (You know, diet and stuff?) So I have come up with the best alternative to sweets and healthy food combination that suits me just perfect: a NICE CREAM

It can be even vegan and gluten-free – the limit is the sky and master chef in you. As my boyfriend is lactose intolerant than this is wonderful option also to treat him with a (n)ice cream plus definitely fit version of it.

My weekends cheat-meal snack is Strawberry Nice Cream (vegan and lactose free and so fit so you won’t have a guilty pleasure, just pleasure). Below is recipe – also printable to try at home! Read More

Workout

This week you can definitely feel the changes in the air, not only in temperature dropping but also with all the things happening around me and seems that with the change with the season is getting active not only sports clubs but also different events – sporty events. There was already several runs, Fluo run, The Color run (pity I had to skip it due to my Japan trip) and now there are another interesting event/run coming up in Milan this weekend that you should check it out! Unfortunately cannot participate as I am under antibiotics for this week (got unexpected medical intervention) , so I will be cheering for all the girls taking part in it (…aaand silently envying them), as it looks it will be some great event!

Inspiration, Me & My Beau

Monday is for challenges and new beginnings! it’s a perfect occasion to reset something or uptake a new thing, it’s like a second chance to start over that’s offered to you every single week. So today I am also throwing myself a new challenge to reset my caffeine effect or challenge myself to not use coffee for next two weeks.

The thing I decided to do it is just because I believe that coffee is not anymore doing the effect to me as it used to so I want to go back to the time when I never drank coffee (5 years ago), but living in Italy you just get used to a nice cup of a good espresso that you just cannot do it without. Moreover as for a athlete caffeine is an essential for a performance boosting before training and it should better have it’s effect properly so it is a time to resit it! Read More

Have you ever had that thought in your head that you heart will explode and will collapse before the finish line – aka your goal target distance?  If answer is yes – don’t worry, you are not alone. I have had it several times, especially when I restart running after long time, like after injury or for several other obstacles that prevents me for running for longer periods. Every single time after couple of kilometers I am thinking, “OMG, I am old. I will die” How long I still have to go? (looks to the watch) Seriously? it’s been 9 min, ONLY? I will never make it. Why I am doing this to myself?”, but than in the end I go ahead and finish my distance anyway. You would ask me how? And my answer is simple – dedication and goal reaching and knowing my limits. When I set a goal, whatever field, I always evaluate my possibilities and weapons in order to achieve them and I try to be as realistic as possible, and also honest with myself – can I make it? Mornings are getting fresher and air is getting chillier and you can definitely feel that today is the first day of autumn.  Even though the sun is still shining it is not as hot as it used to be a month ago and we will not manage to blink our eyes that the colorful leaves and fall rains will arrive so it is last opportunity to make the best out of this wonderful weather and enjoy the last sunny days by spending them outdoors!

I actually do enjoy this weather a lot because you still can dress light but mornings asks for some scarf/ poncho perfectly pairing with a tumbler filled with a good, green tea you to warm you up.

So the first thing to embrace the outdoor wellness is to get yourself a good cup of a green tea to start morning right, boost your immune system and detox your body. Read More

Survival guide how to eat healthy in Japan

We all know how hard it is to stick to the diet when we are traveling, especially when you are on a tough schedule and in a foreign country, not even mentioning far away continent where we have no idea of the local eating habits nor knowledge of the language on the food packaging in shops to make the best .

My Japan trip was quite a challenge dieting wise as always had to carefully choose what to eat. Luckily for me Japanese are really conscious of what they are eating in traditional restaurants offering small portions and different food bites – selection of first courses, perfectly pairing protein and carbs. Like fish and rice for lunch and proteins (fish) for dinner accompanied with some sea weeds and small portions of salad. Read More
