Have you ever participated in a themed run? Well but have you participated in a cinema run that actually explains and shows you places that have seen in the movies? Well I did! and it was fun! And all these places we also captured by camera for a living proof that were there.
The fun part that this run was quite patriotic – all Latvians! not snobbing other people, but it was organized by an outdoor training club in Riga and as were visiting Milan they set up this activity, where I was happy to take a part in and explore a little bit of the culture and also make new native friends living in Milan. ( Was not aware that we are so many here).
How the run went – here are summary and pictures.
We started at parco Sempione at Bar Bianco and Ponte delle Sirenette ( where was shot movie – Rocco e i suoi fratelli, 1960).
Continued with Arco della Pace (movie – Come September, 1961).
Than passing Teatro alla Scala to Vittorio Emanuele galleria where was shot (Miracolo a Milano, 1951, Cronaca di un amore, 1950)
Place were also shot Rocco e i suoi fratelli, Io sono d’amore, 2009, Miracolo a Milano, 1951)
The run was hosted by Nike latvia coach – Roberts while he was in holiday in Milan. ( this is called dedication).
As after every great run there was a sunny and blissful stretching in the park and we all know that it is a fundament to a successful run/training session to release the muscle tension.
To our little group we accepted all levels of fitness from newbies to pro and all age groups from babies to a big babies! (counting myself as one).
Remember, that the best workout is always done together with friends just because you push harder and motivate each other.
What can I say? this was one fun, and fit sunday spent in a good company and melting those calories away while educating ourselves meanwhile.
What about you? have you ever participated in park workout or a teamed run? How was it?
