I must say this Spring has been one, crazy rollercoaster: travels, impressions, new people, crazy feelings, long days and even longer working hours, dedication to get in shape ( because, let’s be honest-round is not the best shape, hehe), neglected friends and new, life changing plans for the summer.. I have already shared couple of times my fitness power bars recipe with you guys but here is a slightly modified and updated version of the old muesli/ granola bars recipe. They say – third is a charm, right?

Made it to treat the family, friends and colleagues as made it way too many. But as a finger-lickin good ones – they were gone in a heartbeat! so tested, proven and approved even by picky eaters! (That’s why excuse the lack of the pictures – couldn’t fight off all the eaters!)

The good side making homemade power bars is to have them by your reach whenever sugar cravings crash. Easy to pack them away for your office snack or enjoy it post workout to renew that energy reserves after a hard training, or simply have a healthy kick-start of the day, whenever you choose – it will make you satisfied!  Read More

Experimental fitness dish cooking is my thing, but you already know that by now with all my Friday Fit Food posts. So once I week I post some of my experiments, fit recipes, modifications or new dishes I have come up to – all that’s good for the body and mind, doesn’t cost a fortune and are pretty easy to make – all in a name of diversification, clean food and to be a living proof that fit food doesn’t need to be boring or repetitive or plain.

I already wrote about egg clouds and recipes with eggs once, but this time I slightly took this recipe to the next level – made some modifications and put it in the oven.

It’s simple, easy, delicious and looks cute and all in name of fitness and sticking to that clean eating. (especially handy after long winter holiday).

Here is how to do it! Read More

The ones who knows me already can tell you that I love making fit food fun and delicious ( #foodporn) and this time is no exception – made a new, nice experiment for a healthy breakfast – a fit smoothie bowl. Also works really well as treat.

The thing about breakfast smoothie bowl is that it’s packed with energy, minerals and vitamins – all that you need to start the day right and so easy to make!

I always keep in my freezer some fruits and berries for an emergency smoothie or nice cream making ( because a girl needs her emergency kit.. Whatever the emergency is). Autumn days like these, when is raining cats and dogs (and you have been working and running around the world like crazy – again) and you just need some ray of sunshine to force yourself to leave the house and face the world – a nice smoothie bowl is the right thing to get you going.

Whenever I got some free time I roll up sleeves and get on with cooking experiments. This time I tried a homemade tofu chips recipe. So easy, fast and soo good. Completely guilt free too!

Usually I always grab a copy of free Italian recipes books/magazines in supermarkets as I like to see what’s trending now in Italy as well as get some inspiration for my own experiments. This recipe is based on Esseulnga’s fall recipe catalogue I got there ( it’s a supermarket chain store). My eye caught section of recipes for vegans and vegetarians this fall and there was also many recipes with tofu.

As like tofu a lot but many people doesn’t ( including my husband) than decided to give a try to this tofu chips recipe with a slight modification to original one to see how it will be accepted. The result surprised me! And so will you!  Read More

Back in June Sanrio came out with their latest “chich” products to their fans – a Hello Kitty branded melon and all have to admit it’s quite kawaii way to get those kids eating more fruits and bring the branding to the next level.

Last week I was again in Sanrio headquarters in Tokyo to see what our mother company is coming out next at Sanrio inhouse Expo and I am glad to tell that soon will be joining that cute melon some other cute and delicious looking fruit with super kawaii packaging. Read More

Fit food & Drinks, Travel

Portugal is famous for her sea dishes, especially for sardines, and what could be a better lunch option than having a fresh fish dish at the seaside right after an crazy morning between plane catching, check-in struggles and car renting misunderstandings? For us finding this small , local all-you-can-eat restaurant with fixed sardine menu was the highlight of the day and actually – of all trip as the best local food experience.

Our lunch stop was at – Mar a Vista. This place I came across as best local place recommendations in Trip Advisor. Which actually provided pretty accurate visitor description of the place and the order of the day: ” They bring you grilled sardines, potatoes and salad, then they bring you more sardines, some more potatoes and salad, and than some more sardines and some more sardines, and when you feel like you cannot eat anymore they bring you more sardines…till you stay stop!” ( From our experience – stop was not enough! we had to say “Stop” for 3 times together with “basta, basta!”  and some hand gestures to stop bringing as we had already plenty. But boy, I tell you – those were one delicious sardines!  Read More

Sometimes we just cannot take it anymore the regular diet with it’s chicken/turkey,  salads and veggies and we need to freshen-up our everyday dish. My way to make the boring turkey/chicken to taste different is to make a meatballs. Which is fast, easy and delicious. as every time I am experimenting with different proportions and extras than I do not really follow a certain recipe, so just mixing up ingredients and go by intuition.

So here come my yesterday’s meatball recipe. Remember this is a fit blog and a fit version of a meatballs so no frying required, just oven -to keep it light.

Last Friday was all about cravings and desire to cook and create something different and delicious using particular ingredients, like black rice and pumpkin and so on. (The original post you can see here).  The best part of the last weekend was the one that followed – I actually did create and played around with 2 new fit recipes. The first one was with black rice and salmon.

So fast, easy and perfect for a fit weekend lunch that can be made by anyone and will take not more than 30 minutes to prepare everything. No real cooking skills required as well, so no excuses not trying yourself at home.
