Happy Workout Wednesday! A New program to test in my hands and already in progress since last Friday. (If you follow me on Instagram you would know about my struggle already), but now let me telling you for the new HIIT training program I am testing out. (So you don’t have to).

This Hiit cutting program is recommended by Bodybuilding.com experts and as felt that I need an adventure – I signed up for it.

I can tell you – this one is really tough for a beginner or someone who lakc out of diet and constant heavy exercising for a while. ( I have been out for quite a while so it is pretty tough, I must admit).

People who knows me would call me a gym bunny and healthy lifestyle lover and I guess that’s true (guess trying to write a fitness dedicated blog makes this statement legit) and guess that’s why the reason sometimes girls reach out with some workout advice or their fitness updates they wish to share with me. (Which I love, BTW. I am always happy to help. Let’s call this my mission – help people to create the best version of themselves and help as much as I can from my best knowledge – so feel free drop me a line).

Couple of days ago a friend of mine shared her idea to try 30 day squat challenge..and I couldn’t help but frown hearing it. Sure I was glad to hear that she wishes to have a fitness challenge and improve her physical aspect but this was just not the right medicine to work miracles as many people believes. And it’s not their fault, it’s media, fake profiles promoting results after their 30 day challenges, before and after pictures, that are actually found on internet and “borrowed” from real people or just plainly photoshopped. All these things gives us impression that after a 30 day challenge, not only squat challenge, we will have this amazing body: lifted and round booty, perfect beach body or super toned arms.

Of course it’s wonderful to believe and trust me – I have been there, believing that a challenges and a short term workouts found on women’s magazines would give me my dream body, but unfortunately been deluded way too many times, as I believe, rest of us, when thinking about the result and being inspired from a star/unreal people social media profiles and magazines. The thing that makes us all believe that it can be done is comparison with others. Stop doing it! It will take you nowhere!

But don’t get me wrong – I love challenges! They inspires me. Like trying out some model fitness training program, like did with Dan Roberts (trainer for Victoria’s Secret Angels) training schedule. Or the Blogilates challenge – Journey to splits.  But despite truly admire the girl and were performing religiously my stretches every day I did not manage to have my complete split just because I started from proper newbie/beginner level and expected to arrive where others would after years and years of training and practice. (If don’t believe me – check my experience and photo check-in). Just saying that you should never compare someones middle to your beginner and underestimate the work behind it.

Inspiration

One week around of my challenge of my intensive training program and the feelings are exactly as they were on Friday – sore! Really, truly, sore. Just this time adding sore legs and booty (gosh, I have been missing out on training and now my body is making me suffer for that), topping to already feeling in pain I am also feeling destroyed, sleepy and honestly pretty deluded as this morning weight-in did not see any change on my weights.

However I said to myself: you can be sorry for yourself or you can do something about it to change it and learn the lesson out of it. And this is what I did!

So I was wondering what are the points that makes achievable any challenge, whatever it is and I came up with a list how to achieve the goals. Read More

Your own New Year’s fitness workout tracker

New year, new you! This is my New year’s motto, resolution and objective! Been the craziest end of the year so far and not entirely in the fittest and healthiest way to be completely honest with you.. However 2016 has arrived and it gives you another chance to start over or take it where you last left off. For me it is with the fitness objectives, that I wish to take up where I left it more than a month ago.

I could tell you everything that happened and add some excuse on the top but the truth is – there is not point of that, as it will not really change the situation. Did I work out last 3 weeks? Honestly ? No. But do I feel bad about it? Definitely yes! (Of course 1 week I was sick as a monkey and did not get out of the bed with a bad fever, but that’s gone as well), 2 weeks I am here in Calabria at my boyfriend’s family over holiday and no working out as well as A – everything is closed, B – it’s not really the right place and time to do it when you are visiting family and C – I lacked of motivation as where so tired, exhausted and just needed a rest to regain strengths, will and inspiration.. and you know what? It worked out splendidly!

I am inspired, motivated and fully recharged to get the shape of the life!

So this is what I have been up to last couple of days – I designed my own workout calendar – tracking board to keep my progress.

I know that I do better if I track my progress and put it in a visual place like on the wall or fridge doors together with some inspirational pictures.  Read More

Me & My Beau

Living in Italy and not drinking a coffee is something that does not really goes well together with the local culture especially because you cannot imagine a meeting, starting your morning (properly) or finishing a meal that would not involve a short, black coffee from a mini cup.  As we all know how proud Italians are with their black as night, sweet as love and hot as the hell coffee so taking that away drags you in the center of attention immediately.. So this is what happened with me last 2 weeks as I was resetting my caffeine tolerance by cutting down on coffee.

I must say that living in Milan for 5 years you really get used to drinking coffee and it is harder to quit a habit than I was thinking it would be, but I made it (with some floss in my strict plan, BUT still did it) and can proudly say that I have definitely reset my caffeine tolerance and that it definitely works!  Read More

Monday is for challenges and new beginnings! it’s a perfect occasion to reset something or uptake a new thing, it’s like a second chance to start over that’s offered to you every single week. So today I am also throwing myself a new challenge to reset my caffeine effect or challenge myself to not use coffee for next two weeks.

The thing I decided to do it is just because I believe that coffee is not anymore doing the effect to me as it used to so I want to go back to the time when I never drank coffee (5 years ago), but living in Italy you just get used to a nice cup of a good espresso that you just cannot do it without. Moreover as for a athlete caffeine is an essential for a performance boosting before training and it should better have it’s effect properly so it is a time to resit it! Read More

Every time I am traveling my choice for airport reading falls to Women’s Health magazine UK as it is full of interesting things, workouts, tips and confessions – not only entertaining but also educational. Especially I love to see the workouts by star trainers and fitness experts as always find something exciting and new to try out or include in my gym routine to spice it up a little. This time was not an exception as decided to challenge myself by doing their September issue workout by star trainer Dan Roberts

As a person who loves to experiment, improve and throw challenges to myself  than I was immediately intrigued and where determined that must test immediately this world famous trainer method: Mindfulness together with martial-arts Hiit

Mostly I was curious to see if this workout actually does something, like makes me feel my muscles ache the day after. Let me already anticipate you – it does. OMG, it does. The day after was bad, especially for my groin muscles where destroyed by doing 100 knee strikes per leg (1st exercise), as this is a muscle that is trained really rarely or superficially, well at least my case.  Read More

3o day challenge of splits by Blogilates are officially over so it is time to make a review of how the second half went to a complete newbie in yoga/pilates – me!

To be completely honest with you ( and myself), that I must admit that while my vacation in Latvia I was able to do just 2 days of stretching instead of remaining 6 – not because I did not want, but physically I had so full agenda, that I arrived home every day at midnight completely overwhelmed and exhausted that were no good to do a proper stretching. Therefore this check in will be only for the progress I made, as I decided to add extra 2 weeks to complete and follow the Cassey guide till the end to see where I can arrive at standing split.

So far I have been seeing quite a progress in my flexibility as been doing my stretches every day religiously so can admit  it’s definitely working! Below is my photo check in how the rest of the days went.  Read More

It has been exactly 14 days since I threw a new challenge to myself – to sign up at Blogilates #JourneyToSplits challenge – 30 days and 30 stretches to learn a split from a standing position.

Honestly speaking it has been pretty tough these last 2 weeks with work, assignments, teaching, blogging, working out, and every day chorus that must be done that it was hard to add another assignment to already busy schedule of mine – like dedicating every day minimum 10 minutes of stretching, BUT as July is a month of challenges and also standing split is something I have always wanted to learn, than despite of all difficulties and obstacles I have been having my stretches every night.  Read More

Hello in this hot Wednesday! Milan has been having the craziest hot wave ever that just kills your mood to do..well anything. Luckily office is fully equipped with a/c – working a/c, so being productive at least during my working hours! Unlike my gym, that has been without it already for a week and I must tell you – it’s crazy! Taking shower felt like going in sauna that you need a shower after a shower, but it’s been too hot for too long already that just the power is going out for all the cooling systems running everywhere office, restaurant and cafeteria in the zone.

I went to gym and was thinking, “wow, so little people”, but than I realized why.. I was tired and exhausted from crazy working schedule and long hours working and the feeling under the weather and mentally tired so getting in a hot gym without an a/c working when outside is +35°C was NOT motivating to work out at all, BUT dedication is doing what you have to do you want it or do not to obtain your goals, so what I did? I got changed and went for a work out anyway.  Read More
