Me & My Beau, Workout

Last week Adidas Runners Milan organized another great event – this time just for ladies presenting the new UltraBOOST X runners shoes designer for ladies! And what’s the best way to experience the shoe? Of course to go for a run! And so we did.

Turned out that was one of the lucky ones that had a chance to bring these babies for a run! And must say it was great! So comfy! was slightly looking sceptical to them but after trying on I really can say that you can feel the difference on the feet when running – fits perfectly hugging your ankle therefore giving a great support. At least my impression.

But apart trying on a new shoe had a great Milan evening run and a little bit of working out with Adidas Runners girls.

Here is how it went.

We all know that HIIT is the ultimate fat burning accelerator in a short time. But if you are beginner in this or not really keen of HIIt, or simply don’t have time to add additional 2 workout days a week dedicated for cardio exercises only that this might be a solution also for you. Also because with the hectic, busy and honestly exhausting lifestyle currently living, this is definitely for me.  ( I am never “selling” something that I am not believing in and wouldn’t test it myself).

This HIIT has been suggested by fitness experts in Bodybuilding and as my prefered source of information, suggestions and tips, than trusting to experts that this does work. So let’s give a try, shall we?

Summer has come to an end (even if doesn’t feel like that in +31C here in Milan already for weeks )and it means just one thing – it is time to get back to everyday routines and it is time to set some new workout and  fitness schedule, make some new goals, aims and challenges! ( not only inside but also the gym!). As it’s easier said than done than some healpful tips are always welcome! ( I am glad to share mine)!

After a long vacation in South of Italy and getting married! ( Dont’ worry will share  some pictures soon!)I will have to catch up with quite a lot of things, especially at fitness and healthy lifestyle level because the one who said that planning your own wedding will make you lose weight was definitely wrong ( my case at least!) and also visiting family in South of Italy where saying “no, grazie!” is not acceptable at the table when granny offers you another slice of home-made parmigiana or lasagna ( also you do not want ot say no to this treat).
don't say no to granny

You never say no to granny

I can bet I am not the only one to get back on track so here are some tips to get out of that post-vacation depression, start loosing that gained weight and get back in shape.
*Set a reachable goal
The best motivator is setting a clear and obtainable goal. Like loosing 2kg (gained in summer vacations) till winter holiday. (One of my goals too – get in shape for next holiday! so let’s do this together! )
It can also be a goal to get able to run 5km marathon and participate in The Color Run (the worlds funnest and colorful 5km ). I just participated again on 3rd September here in Milan! (Loads of colorful fun)!

And we are back in the game! Well I am! started my day with a 6am morning run and tonight ready to get back to the gym! Been a while and feel that I will need an extra effort to catch up with all the lost weeks of training. Especially will need to increase weight training as well as Cardio, but knowing my hectic life schedule and limited times to train I must take drastic measures – like HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) to speed up the results and burn some belly fat effectively.

Really nice one HIIT I really like is suggested by Justine Munro (IFBB Bikini Pro, personal trainer, and a fitness model).  After seeing this beauty you will definitely want to give a try to this routine to shred that belly fat – I am on it as well!  Read More

This week you can definitely feel the changes in the air, not only in temperature dropping but also with all the things happening around me and seems that with the change with the season is getting active not only sports clubs but also different events – sporty events. There was already several runs, Fluo run, The Color run (pity I had to skip it due to my Japan trip) and now there are another interesting event/run coming up in Milan this weekend that you should check it out! Unfortunately cannot participate as I am under antibiotics for this week (got unexpected medical intervention) , so I will be cheering for all the girls taking part in it (…aaand silently envying them), as it looks it will be some great event!

Inspiration, Workout

Have you ever had that thought in your head that you heart will explode and will collapse before the finish line – aka your goal target distance?  If answer is yes – don’t worry, you are not alone. I have had it several times, especially when I restart running after long time, like after injury or for several other obstacles that prevents me for running for longer periods. Every single time after couple of kilometers I am thinking, “OMG, I am old. I will die” How long I still have to go? (looks to the watch) Seriously? it’s been 9 min, ONLY? I will never make it. Why I am doing this to myself?”, but than in the end I go ahead and finish my distance anyway. You would ask me how? And my answer is simple – dedication and goal reaching and knowing my limits. When I set a goal, whatever field, I always evaluate my possibilities and weapons in order to achieve them and I try to be as realistic as possible, and also honest with myself – can I make it? First Nike event Milan – So Fast – check!

Happy Monday hot Milan! Ready to confront another work week? I am! Determined, charged and ready for new challenges and achievements – one step at a time!

If you were following me on Twitter and Instagram you already knew that went running a mile with Nike Training Club Milano to show how fast I am. and I must say, it went even better than I thought. Hadn’t been able to run more than a month not even talking about speed running, so was pretty nervous but all good that ends good and just jump right in and confront my fears just by Doing it without too much thinking! (too much thinking kills the courage, so I am not hesitating but just taking opportunities and accept challenges when they comes in front of me without much consideration if the feeling is right.)

It was such a great pleasure to meet and see so many smiley, active and positive people at one place and coming together to do something fit and just enjoy their Thursday evening sporty not by regular bar hopping and Milan apperetivos, even though there was a bar – a juice bar with a freshly squeezed smoothies to recharge our batteries after our mile along the Naviglio.

July is for challenges

Happy 1st of July, hope it’s every where as sunny and lovely as it is now in Milan. well, actually maybe a little bit too so instead I would rather prefer to be at beach in beautiful Liguria, but still – not complaining, enjoying sunny Milan Summer days that are still full with things to do, see and experience. especially because here is held World Expo 2015, so city is buzzing with events, attractions, tastings, activities on every corner.

For me beginning of each month is new goal setting and things to look after. July for me is taking up and accepting new challenges, mostly fitness ones. Already mentioned that joined Nike Training Club Milano and did my first competition last Sunday, now taking second challenge tomorrow – So fast Day Milan to have a 1 mile run. (Wish me luck! Haven’t been competing and speed running since high school so feeling a little bit nervous but excited at the same time! )

Than on Monday I saw another wonderful challenge by Blogilates – 30 Days & 30 Stretches to Splits! That Read More

Inspiration

Time indeed flies and feels like just yesterday was 1st of June while it’s almost over and it means that has left just 1 month to my second part of my fitness challenge with myself – to burn fat and increase muscles. First par has closed pretty successful – 2kg but looks like 5! Proud of that. Second part – should go for just giving more definition to muscles as shredding is going hand-in-hand with that. (Remember, the more muscles you have, the faster you burn fat), so this week is all about speeding up the rhythm and trying also some new things.

Last week I joined Nike Training Club Milano and re-download N+TC app to take part in their challenges (first one was yesterday – to track your workout or run with Nike apps and afterwards share on their social networks with the #BetterForIt (about this project you can read here.)  I must say I have pretty hooked with this new challenge and joining the Nike club that already looked up for the next challenge (this 2nd July, Milan) there will be So Fast day. You can still register and come to run a mile and try the new Nike Air Zoom Elite 8 e Nike Air Zoom Pegasus 32 shoes. So if you are in Milan, come and join the challenge. Subscriptions here. Workout

On a Workout Wednesday I am always trying to share some tips and tricks of fitness and workout to help you to improve your form. Today, I would like to share exercises that are really efficient to burn fat and a lot more intense than regular, static cardio – like running.

This 10 tips I saw on Hamed’s Google Plus page. (Check him out) and I had to share them with you too – because I couldn’t agree more as I have tried almost all of them and trust me – they are super efficient as I can compare with a regular running (I go for a run couple of times per week).

So here is what Hamed suggests: Read More
