Good Friday asks for some good weekend recipe, right? This time want to share with you, my latest, sweet experiment – apple pancakes! Perfect as a sweet treat or as a power breakfast to substitute those morning oats!

I must say this Spring has been one, crazy rollercoaster: travels, impressions, new people, crazy feelings, long days and even longer working hours, dedication to get in shape ( because, let’s be honest-round is not the best shape, hehe), neglected friends and new, life changing plans for the summer.. But hang in there, will keep you posted on that part too! But for now, let’s get back to my latest fit breakfast experiment – apple pancakes!

Incredibly easy, fit and healthy recipe that even a newbie will master and impress a foodie!  Read More

I have already shared couple of times my fitness power bars recipe with you guys but here is a slightly modified and updated version of the old muesli/ granola bars recipe. They say – third is a charm, right?

Made it to treat the family, friends and colleagues as made it way too many. But as a finger-lickin good ones – they were gone in a heartbeat! so tested, proven and approved even by picky eaters! (That’s why excuse the lack of the pictures – couldn’t fight off all the eaters!)

The good side making homemade power bars is to have them by your reach whenever sugar cravings crash. Easy to pack them away for your office snack or enjoy it post workout to renew that energy reserves after a hard training, or simply have a healthy kick-start of the day, whenever you choose – it will make you satisfied!  Read More

Experimental fitness dish cooking is my thing, but you already know that by now with all my Friday Fit Food posts. So once I week I post some of my experiments, fit recipes, modifications or new dishes I have come up to – all that’s good for the body and mind, doesn’t cost a fortune and are pretty easy to make – all in a name of diversification, clean food and to be a living proof that fit food doesn’t need to be boring or repetitive or plain.

I already wrote about egg clouds and recipes with eggs once, but this time I slightly took this recipe to the next level – made some modifications and put it in the oven.

It’s simple, easy, delicious and looks cute and all in name of fitness and sticking to that clean eating. (especially handy after long winter holiday).

Here is how to do it! Read More

Have you ever wonder how does that alternative, vegetarian pizza base tastes but was kind a scared to try yourself? Well don’t worry! I experimented on myself! Must tell you – tastes absolutely great! and would never even tell that it is made from cauliflower.

I decided to give a try to this alternative pizza as a) cannot eat any bread products nor any yeast products so pizza is out of a question. (Living in Italy does not help you to resist the temptation). So I decided to give a try to this vegetarian pizza base myself.

All you need is 1 cauliflower, 100g almonds, an egg, some 100 g cheese, food processor and some patience. The last one you will need a lot.

When the sweater weather comes – it’s time to take out the heavy artillery – veggies, fruits, greens, hot dishes, to stay healthy, hydrated and get those vitamins in! A wonderful, fast and easy way to increase your green intake is smoothies!

I have been head over heels trying new recipes and going wild blending everything! Will it blend? can it blend? you name it – I have tried everything already since I got my new blender!

Absolutely love it! So basically I can almost call myself a blender babe minus blending minimally dressed; after all -it’s winter and it’s chilly to stay poorly dressed while cooking/blending/or going around the home ( let’s wait for summer for that, shall we? ) However they are cool and have some great recipes. The ones who knows me already can tell you that I love making fit food fun and delicious ( #foodporn) and this time is no exception – made a new, nice experiment for a healthy breakfast – a fit smoothie bowl. Also works really well as treat.

The thing about breakfast smoothie bowl is that it’s packed with energy, minerals and vitamins – all that you need to start the day right and so easy to make!

I always keep in my freezer some fruits and berries for an emergency smoothie or nice cream making ( because a girl needs her emergency kit.. Whatever the emergency is). Autumn days like these, when is raining cats and dogs (and you have been working and running around the world like crazy – again) and you just need some ray of sunshine to force yourself to leave the house and face the world – a nice smoothie bowl is the right thing to get you going.

Workout

Summer has come to an end (even if doesn’t feel like that in +31C here in Milan already for weeks )and it means just one thing – it is time to get back to everyday routines and it is time to set some new workout and  fitness schedule, make some new goals, aims and challenges! ( not only inside but also the gym!). As it’s easier said than done than some healpful tips are always welcome! ( I am glad to share mine)!

After a long vacation in South of Italy and getting married! ( Dont’ worry will share  some pictures soon!)I will have to catch up with quite a lot of things, especially at fitness and healthy lifestyle level because the one who said that planning your own wedding will make you lose weight was definitely wrong ( my case at least!) and also visiting family in South of Italy where saying “no, grazie!” is not acceptable at the table when granny offers you another slice of home-made parmigiana or lasagna ( also you do not want ot say no to this treat).
don't say no to granny

You never say no to granny

I can bet I am not the only one to get back on track so here are some tips to get out of that post-vacation depression, start loosing that gained weight and get back in shape.
*Set a reachable goal
The best motivator is setting a clear and obtainable goal. Like loosing 2kg (gained in summer vacations) till winter holiday. (One of my goals too – get in shape for next holiday! so let’s do this together! )
It can also be a goal to get able to run 5km marathon and participate in The Color Run (the worlds funnest and colorful 5km ). I just participated again on 3rd September here in Milan! (Loads of colorful fun)!

When you get tired of a (forced by doctor) diet it’s time to get crafty to find a compromise of swapping the traditional morning eggs and Wasa bread for something sweeter – like overnight oats.

Been more than a month that I am allowed just to stick to some selected things and boy I miss my overnight oats and morning oats and some granola and some pancakes with home made fresh strawberry jam..mmm, and some orange juice and fruits…mmm fruits – I miss fruits. sweet temptations. BUT, sticking to my diet and being good, but yesterday had enough and said will try to find a compromise and make my overnight oats this time giving some twist to them – adding some soy milk and chia seeds.

Result was absolutely nice, (super sweet as been skipping everything sweet for so long time that even soy milk was 10 x sweeter than usual) but truly delicious. No official picture, as was too early to get all snappy and everything, but the result is the same as in pictures – good look and yummy.

Here is my ingredients for you to try yourself. Read More

We all know what is good for you and what should you be eating but sometimes, when the temptations are on every corner, (yes you,  delicious Italian gelato vendors, I refer to you) we forget about and just gave in to our cravings. As I am not in position to gave in to any temptations ( getting married and still under super-strict eating regimen) than I am here to share you some good tips for a healthy and balanced diet that might help you when you are doing your grocery shopping for the week.

Here are some tips approved by Women’s Health Nutritionist Eve Kalinik and me backing up the theory what should you eat for a healthy diet and weight loss.

Sometimes we just cannot take it anymore the regular diet with it’s chicken/turkey,  salads and veggies and we need to freshen-up our everyday dish. My way to make the boring turkey/chicken to taste different is to make a meatballs. Which is fast, easy and delicious. as every time I am experimenting with different proportions and extras than I do not really follow a certain recipe, so just mixing up ingredients and go by intuition.

So here come my yesterday’s meatball recipe. Remember this is a fit blog and a fit version of a meatballs so no frying required, just oven -to keep it light.
