Who doesn’t know Milan? Capital of Fashion, Design and Inspiration of many artists as well as models, starlets and celebs. A wonderful place to soak-in culture, get creative and be inspired. However last years been noticing that Milan is improving more also on healthy food trends and following the global trend for urban cities offering bigger and wider healthy lunch selection. What makes foodies, vegans and healthy eaters happier and life easier ( talking of leaving that pre-packed salad at home and going out with friends for lunch).

This time wanted to share with you one of my favorite, healthy hot-spots of Milan – That’s Vapore. This place is truly green (in thinking and interior) offering a nice concept lunches served in baskets that are freshly prepared every day. Milan there are just 2 places but they are expanding and opened their first place also in London (Baker Street) as well.  Read More

If been following my adventures than already know that last week were in Tel Aviv for work and as were there for 4 days than I had to adjust my workout schedule to the travel one doing my workouts on the road. Luckily form me in my hotel (Carlton – which, BTW, is A-mazing!) had also gym facilities so put my mind on peace and packed my workout equipment before hitting the road.

As a determined lady who never skips leg day, I woke up along with the sunrise and to hit the gym. Not because I would be an early bird, but because when I am on the road there is just no way to find a time for an evening workout so prefer to rise with the birds to have one.

Isn’t the view lovely? This view is definitely worth the early wake up despite the hard time getting out of the bed. Read More

How to get the best of Tel Aviv on a busy working schedule

So I am back from my crazy work travel in Tel Aviv and I must say it was one adventurous ride despite of the business trip. Definitely not the calmest and most peaceful place to visit nowadays to get a peace of mind. My mom was petrified when told her I have to go there for work, but I honestly can tell you that I was kind a looking forward this trip as always wanted to see the place as in my mind it was so different – enchanting in a way, and when occasion arose that I had to go there to represent my company in an event – I had all those mixed feelings – thrill for having a new adventure and slight fear of unknown and newspaper headlines flying by of all terrorist attacks, bombing and everyday war alerts..

However  my collaborators and partner living there was truly welcoming and helpful organizing everything (even airport pick-up ) that made matters easier and once they sent me the hotel recommendations along the beach – all my doubts were out of the window and couldn’t wait to go. Read More

The best thing that always get be on track and helps to overcome a jet lag is a training. A good weight or a cardio  training the day after arriving to help to adjust to the new rhythm and time zone. As all last week I spent Tokyo and had a pretty hectic and busy meeting schedule that having a training was the best thing. Luckily for me I found a wonderful fitness center – NAS Sports club  – fully equipped gym in the same building as my hotel in Osaki, Tokyo.

As this was a real gym than could easily stick to my training routine during my stay which made me truly happy especially as been on my strict training and dieting regime since beginning of the year.

The gym is spacious, offers all the types of regular weight machines as well as free weights for an efficient weight training. (had a killer leg day that were sore for next 2 days).  Read More

Another manic Monday (everyone now listen to this song by The Bangles). BUT this week, unlike others, will end with a bag packing and preparing for a winter break!! YUPIII!!! can’t wait for the weekend to arrive and finish wrapping up the last Christmas gifts and writing last cards to my beloved ones with warm winter wishes and of course pack my bags to take off.

The secret of a every well packed bag, especially in winter, is preparation. As a pro-packer (can wake me up in a middle of night and will be ready to catch the plane in 20 min.) and traveler than have already worked out my handbag essentials till the last detail and that’s why I wish to share such with you too guys. Every time I go back home to Latvia I am trying to get my hands on all the good and delicious local foods that you just cannot access to living in Italy like: sea buckthorn, wild cranberries, black bread, curd, power milk*, chanterelles, apples from my garden and so on and on.  I always try to incorporate them in my diet while I am there as well as try to bring back with me as much as possible. So needless to say that my getaway has a particular diet while I am here.

BUT that doesn’t mean that I am not following what I am putting on my plate. I still stick to my diet, but just trying to freshen it up with a local super foods. Here are some of my recommendations to stay in shape (and even improve it), that you just MUST try, while you are in Latvia (or any other North European country for that matter). Read More

How to eat healthy at London Gatwick airport

We all have been there- fighting with boredom before or between flights( also me last week in London). Some goes around exploring shopping area if there is any, some surfs Internet  if found a free Wi-Fi that works well, but the biggest part, I have noticed, are hitting g food courts and cafeterias to feed their emotional or real hunger.

As for me, as I believe being a professional jet setter hopping on and off flights every week or every second week (this year been running around the world like crazy) than I can say I have learned quite a lot and have already made my way around airports and finding out where is the best smoothies and nicest salad and prefect snacks for a quick bite.

This time about London Gatwick airport and where I am finding my healthy meals. Read More

It’s been just 3 weeks since I came back from my Japan trip, but feels like a year ago as my life has been a roller coaster since because been running and rushing all the time to manage everything but despite the madness succeeded even to squeezed in Octoberfest  in Munich.

I am not saying that my Japan trip was less hectic and peaceful but the weekend spent in Beppu (Beppu prefecture of Japan, best known for their hot springs. People have them at homes, can you imagine the luxury? )was definitely less busy than other days and could enjoy the wonderful Beppu at Kyushu island and it’s onsen – hot springs.

Honestly speaking one weekend is not enough to enjoy them properly especially if want to go to some special recreation places and do the sightseeing. You have to choose. Our choice was sightseeing – next time will be the recreation part. Read More

A glimpse of amazing and kawaii Tokyo

Even a huge metropolitan city like Tokyo kawaii*  (meaning “cute or lovable” ) is on every corner, style and attitude and it just keeps on impressing and baffling you how such a modern, hi-tech and serious city can have so many sweet expressions everywhere.

Last year was my first time I visited Tokyo and got a small taste of and a general feeling of it. This time returning in this far, far away country drew my attention to details, feelings and contrasts. Of course as it was a work trip than did not have time to be a tourist nor take my usually quantity of pictures so this will be glimpse of Tokyo on-the-go with a kawaii twist. Read More

In a days like these, when it’s raining cats and dogs all I want to do is to stay in and crawl up on a couch with a hot cup of good tea and read some good book. As I am not on holiday, but on a business trip in Tokyo with one hell of a full agenda than it is not possible. Therefore I have not left choice but to be super active, energized and loaded to manage to make the best out of my trip and overcome the jet lag and be efficient and productive and the best medicine for adopting to the new rhythm is a workout to get you going.

Tip number 1 – You should always check out your destinations fitness center/ gym possibilities in hotel or near distance”.

Luckily for me I am staying in this wonderful, luxury hotel at the heart of Shibuya – Cerulean Tower Tokyu Hotel. It offers a wonderful facilities and one of them is (quite) fully equipped fitness center, such as: Treadmills × 5, Exercise bikes × 6, Smith machine, weights, leg extension, and more, to ensure you a possibility to maintain your fitness level like a pro.  Read More
