Travel, Workout

New Year, but the habits stays the same – staying fit even on the road. Also my trip to Dubai, was not an exception and managed to squeeze in workout even on my heavily packed meeting schedule. Luckily for me, in Pullman Dubai Jumeirah Lakes Towers hotel I was staying was a quite good for a hotel gym to perform a proper workout.

The gym itself was quite spacious divided in 3 sections: free weights, cardio machines facing windows, therefore also for early birds like me, could catch sunrise and functional zone. Read More

Do not go more than 3 days without working out.

When on road – I always try to customize my trainings in order to adapt to stick to my training plan no matter how hard it gets, I just always try to find a time to squeeze in a workout session or two to stick to my fitness goal. While in Japan last week I still managed to squeeze in a leg day, HIIT and killer abs workout sessions. Always sticking to the golden rule when starting any workout program:

Indeed when you skip one-two training days it’s most probably you will skip some more and will sabotage all your hard work of previous weeks! (Trust me – I know! So frustrating!)so just stick to the gold rule no matter how hard it gets. Of course there are exceptions, like sickness or factors you cannot influence, but traveling, YES, even for work, shouldn’t be one of them. And in order not to feel bad about not working out at all – just squeeze in some short training programs – like a compact workout for abs and core session.

Abs are relatively easy to train Read More

The best thing that always get be on track and helps to overcome a jet lag is a training. A good weight or a cardio  training the day after arriving to help to adjust to the new rhythm and time zone. As all last week I spent Tokyo and had a pretty hectic and busy meeting schedule that having a training was the best thing. Luckily for me I found a wonderful fitness center – NAS Sports club  – fully equipped gym in the same building as my hotel in Osaki, Tokyo.

As this was a real gym than could easily stick to my training routine during my stay which made me truly happy especially as been on my strict training and dieting regime since beginning of the year.

The gym is spacious, offers all the types of regular weight machines as well as free weights for an efficient weight training. (had a killer leg day that were sore for next 2 days).  Read More

Workout

We all know that hotel gym’s usually does not really offer much possibilities for an efficient workout and that could substitute a proper gym, usually offering just a treadmill, a mat and maybe a bike and couple of weights if you are lucky, so you have to be pretty creative to get a proper workout done. Luckily for me, Novotel West Hammersmith London had more to offer and made my staying last week there way easier.

The gym itself is not big but offers quite a space and some basic machines: like treadmill, elliptical, rowing and bicycles and in addition multi function weight training machine, fitness ball, step, bench, mats, and dumbbells. Basically basic things to ensure you a good training.  Read More

Travel, Workout

In a days like these, when it’s raining cats and dogs all I want to do is to stay in and crawl up on a couch with a hot cup of good tea and read some good book. As I am not on holiday, but on a business trip in Tokyo with one hell of a full agenda than it is not possible. Therefore I have not left choice but to be super active, energized and loaded to manage to make the best out of my trip and overcome the jet lag and be efficient and productive and the best medicine for adopting to the new rhythm is a workout to get you going.

Tip number 1 – You should always check out your destinations fitness center/ gym possibilities in hotel or near distance”.

Luckily for me I am staying in this wonderful, luxury hotel at the heart of Shibuya – Cerulean Tower Tokyu Hotel. It offers a wonderful facilities and one of them is (quite) fully equipped fitness center, such as: Treadmills × 5, Exercise bikes × 6, Smith machine, weights, leg extension, and more, to ensure you a possibility to maintain your fitness level like a pro.  Read More

You don’t have to be a champion to become a champion! this was the a motivational picture I got after finishing my N+TC workout yesterday morning before heading to my first business meeting her in Stockholm. It’s been a while since I could work out due to my dental intervention and frequent traveling lately, so this kind of motivational picture, popping up on my screen after a good workout, was exactly what I needed to start my day good and encourage to get back on track (and stay on it – as I will be travelling a lot upcoming months as well) with my workouts and training routines.

However, travels are not excuse to not work out. Yes, it is more challenging, as you have to make an extra effort to find strength and motivation to work out after/before a long day of traveling and meetings but once you have squeezed in a workout in your schedule, even a short one, it is definitely worth it. I am completely honest when I say that I have never ever regretted waking up 1 h earlier before to have a 20, 30 or 45 min workout session before starting my day. It’s not because I wouldn’t love to sleep! No, no! But love for my body and workout benefits it’s grater than desire to sleep in, so I just get myself up and do a quick workout session that will energize me for the rest of the day.

Usually I work out at my hotel room and having a HIIT or body weight circuit sessions as the hotel gyms are pretty useless anyway, if there are any, as it is pretty convenient and time saving. Also yesterday morning was the case and worked out using only body weight and my limited space in my hotel room.

Trust me, it is all that you actually need to keep active while on road as even a short training can be really effective to maintain the fitness level and stay fit on the road.  Read More
