Last week had been real intense and full with vivid moments, like a Japan Day and special parade at Expo 2015 Milan. As working for a Japanese company than this was a major event for us as Hello Kitty is the ambassador of Japanese Pavilion in the expo, and as I work for Hello Kitty it has been intense period. So Saturday finally came and we could enjoy the parade fully. As I have a wonderful summer kimono I got it during my trip to Japan than this was a great opportunity to wear it and so I did it. (I must say I got a lot of attention as after all being a blond girl wearing kimono is not something you see every day therefore got asked many questions about the Japan, the fair, the expo, opening times, requests to translate things from Japanese to English, take pictures, etc., so felt as famous as Hello Kitty itself of all that attention).
Here is how it went in pictures.
The venue started with an opening party at Martini terrace which has a wonderful location, light lunch and refreshing cocktails selection (luckily for me – also nonalcoholic and sugar free – yay!)
Must say as a blond girl got quite an attention already there as were only one wearing kimono.
After the gathering we all went to the parade which represented several traditional cultural traits, like traditional costumes, dances, art and traditions.
My Japanese hair-do took me ages to replicate it but I think I pulled it off pretty successful as got several compliments regarding it. So long googling hours to look the part payed off – High five to myself!
This little girl run away from her mommy to hug Hello Kitty as soon as she saw her. ^_^
With the big stands and warrior installations was closed the parade so it was time to explore the rest of the Expo and Japan stand itself. Unfortunately the lines to get in there was way too long to wait in the heat so I just got some pictures with Doraemon outside the stand and decided to come back later on this summer when there will be less of a hustle!
That’s all foulks! this is how my Saturday looked like – a slightly different that regular morning spent working out, however did not forget for kind a workout anyway. No don’t think I worked out in kimono! I walked. and I walked a lot as the expo is huge. just huge, but so diverse, so colorful, so education and interesting!
BTW I checked – 1o km added to my cardio account by all walking that Saturday. Small contribution, but still a contribution so this week, going to catch up on all that missed workout and cardio – after all – deadline is near!
WHAT ABOUT YOU? HAVE YOU BEEN TO EXPO 2015 MILAN ALREADY?
